FLUTED TAPERED ROMAN CORINTHIAN FIBERGLASS COLUMNS
Roman Corinthian Columns make a house or building more elegant and striking. They
were created centuries before and are still quite popular today due to
their stylishness and versatility. The Romans imitate the shapes of
orthodox Greek architecture chiefly because of the gorgeous designs and
shaft entasis. Whereas Roman Columns and Greek pillars are very alike,
Roman Corinthian Columns normally have a thinner shaft while standard pillars like
the Greek-Columns will have disparities in the bases. Details with the
two kinds of architecture can also vary somewhat.
The Roman Doric Column is a concoction of the traditional Greek Doric
and the newer
Tuscan Column. Enveloping the column shaft is 24 flutes
that are individually divided by a fillet one third the thickness of the
flutes. However, this is at variance with the traditional Doric shaft
which comes to a peak between each flute. In addition to the simple
Tuscan design, each Roman Doric capital and base includes an additional
layer of ornamental molding. In relation to the prose of Vignola, the
Roman Doric Column, as well as capital and base, must have a stature of
eight-times the shaft width. This gives the column a much more slim line
look than those that came before it.
Roman Columns are specifically popular due to their deep, meticulous
fluting. The two identifications that Roman Columns are known are the
Roman Doric and the Roman-Ionic. The major difference between the two of
them is the kind of capital that the column is crowned with. The most
stunning Roman Columns are topped with elaborate Roman Corinthian capitals,
some as high as twenty feet. The Roman Ionic orders exquisite features
are the scrolls that embellish the capital of each column. These scrolls
obtained their fascinating form from the shell of the sea mollusk.
Roman
Ionic Column shafts are situated on ornamented Attic Bases. The best
example of the Roman Ionic order is the stunning Temple of Fortuna
Virilis in Rome.
